Pender Nebraska is a town of about 1,000 people in Northeast Nebraska. The main ballpark in town is in Memorial Park and is the Dave Nitzschke Baseball Field. In addition to that park there is also Heyne Memorial Field near the football stadium.
The diamond is not in very good shape with weeds growing in the dirt infield and an outfield that needs some tender loving care. The interesting part of the place is the grandstand which is made entirely of concrete. It is an imposing structure and looks like it could withstand a tornado without suffering any damage. Anyway it looks like it is not used for very much any more but the grandstand makes for some interesting photographs.
