The history of Buckley park and Don Norberg field is one of a community at its best. Buckley park is a excellent multipurpose park with beautiful flower gardens, well tended ball fields and other recreation facilities. Buckley park started with a 12 acre donation by the Buckley family in 1912. An additional 15 acre plot was donated in 1927.

Since then numerous generous donations by various families in Stromsburg has allowed the park to add many amenities. Don Norberg field is named after a long time mayor of the town. It is a well nice diamond with a brick entryway and flower garden. The infield is dirt which is the only drawback to this diamond.
