The league saw Clarinda being replaced by Beatrice/Fairbury and Shenandoah was replaced by Hiawatha (KS) for 1912. Nebraska City did a worst to first for 1912. Nebraska City started the season in first place for most of May. In June, Falls City replaced Nebraska City in first. Falls City kept first place for most of June and July. Nebraska City fell to third place by the end of July when they started a winning streak that propelled them to the league championship.

The league had two outstanding first basemen in Milt Drumm of Nebraska City and Steve Brewer of Auburn. Drumm won the batting championship with a .341 average to Brewer's .336. Brewer had more hits 121 to 101. Drumm walked 29 times and had 23 stolen bases while Brewer easily won the stolen base crown with 56.

The issue of Sunday baseball was still hot during the 1912 season. Beatrice had to sign a lease which did not allow them to use the baseball park for games or even practice on Sundays.

Some games of note included Beatrice defeating Hiawatha in 14 innings on June 12th 3-2. Auburn and Hiawatha played a 16 inning 0-0 tie on August 15th. Brown of Hiawatha struck out 25 batters during the contest. Nebraska City was 3rd in batting, fourth in fielding and only had one pitcher in the top 10, yet they won the league championship by timely hitting and pitching when it was needed.
